Local Lockdown Archive

With the backing of Manningtree Town Council and in conjunction with Manningtree Museum & Local History Group, we are looking for accounts of experiences during the Covid-19 Lockdown in order to form a lasting local archive of this extraordinary period in our social history.

  • What were your thoughts at the beginning, and now?
  • How did you keep occupied?
  • What did you miss most?
  • Were there any silver linings – any moments that made you smile?
  • Have your priorities changed, or do you just long for the old ‘normal’?

Personal accounts, anecdotes, perceptions (from one-line thoughts to complete diaries), photographs, artwork, poetry ... anything related to this strange time is very welcome from everyone, definitely including children. Requests for anonymity will be respected. Digital copies would be preferable, but we can help with that if need be. Hopefully we’ll put on an exhibition in the future!

To submit your contributions or ask for further information, please email: MannMem [at] hotmail.com or call 07580 860423
Hard copy submissions can be posted to Manningtree Memories, PO Box 12651, Manningtree, CO11 9AR (Manningtree Council address).
