Vacancies for Parish Councillors for the Parish of Lawford

Notice is hereby given that vacancies exist in the Office of Parish Councillor for the Parish of Lawford.

Anyone interested in becoming a Parish Councillor must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be 18 years or over and included in the Electoral Register
  • Be a British subject, an eligible Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of any member state of the European Union
  • Reside in the parish or within three miles of its boundary or occupy land or property within the parish or have your principal place of work within the parish.
  • Not be the subject of a Bankruptcy Restriction Order or an Interim Order

All candidates will be invited to attend a meeting of the Parish Council where you will be given 5 minutes to address the Council with a brief account of your community activities, past and present, together with any relevant experience or local knowledge.   Date of the meeting will be advised nearer the time.

If you would like to see Councillors in action, come along to the Council meetings on any of the following dates:  21 November, 19 December 2022, 16 January 2023, 20 February, 20 March.  The meetings are held at 6.30pm in the Small Hall, Ogilvie Hall, Wignall Street, Lawford, CO11 2JG.  For meeting dates beyond March 2023 please contact the Clerk.
